How do you stop spam faxes from wasting your resources?

Our physical fax machine is constantly printing out "junk" faxes and advertisements, which wastes toner and paper. Does moving to a digital service help with filtering out this garbage? I'm worried that if I switch to digital, my inbox will just get flooded with spam instead. How do you guys manage this?
