I've been sitting on this for a few weeks now and I figured I'd share in case anyone else is in the same boat I was. I got hurt at work about a year and a half ago, a pretty serious accident that messed up my ankle pretty bad. I tried to handle everything myself because I'm not the type to ask for help and I figured the insurance company would do the right thing if I just stayed on top of them. I was wrong about that. They denied surgeries that my doctor said I needed, sent me to doctors who spent five minutes with me and said I was fine, and generally made my life miserable while I was trying to recover. They've been handling all the calls, all the paperwork, and they got my surgery approved within a few weeks after I'd been fighting for it for almost eight months on my own. I'm not saying everyone needs a lawyer, but if you're feeling like the insurance company is running circles around you and you're getting nowhere, do yourself a favor and at least talk to someone. I wasted so much time and stress trying to do this alone and I regret every minute of it. My case is still ongoing but for the first time in this whole nightmare I feel like someone is actually in my corner and knows what they're doing.
