Title: Got quoted 12k AED for a gearbox rebuild, does that sound about right?

Took my Q5 to a garage in Al Quoz yesterday after the transmission started hesitating really badly when downshifting on highway exits, like a proper clunk that you can feel through the whole car. They plugged in their diagnostic tool and said there's internal wear in the mechatronics unit and possibly some clutch pack damage, quoted me somewhere between ten and twelve thousand dirhams depending on what they find once they open it up. That's a lot of money and I'm trying to figure out if I'm being taken for a ride or if that's genuinely what Audi transmission repair (http://auditransmissionrepair.ae/) costs these days in the UAE. I remember my friend's dad had his Touareg gearbox rebuilt a couple years back and paid way less, but that was a different garage and honestly I don't know if he got quality work or just a patch job. What have you guys paid for similar work recently and is there a specialist you'd trust with something this major?
