Does audience quality matter more than raw PR pickup numbers?

I've become less interested in how many sites republish a press release and more interested in who actually reads it.

For a crypto company, reaching active traders, investors and users is very different from collecting hundreds of generic pickups that have little relevance to the business.

Bitcoin.com is interesting in that respect because its media ecosystem is built around an established crypto audience.

I came across the press release on Bitcoin.com option from Web3 Newswire, currently priced at $750.

For a major announcement, I'd rather have a relevant audience than simply a large pickup number.

How are other Web3 teams measuring PR quality—reach, audience relevance, investor visibility, or something else?
